City of Virginia Beach: McCormick appointed and served one year on “Mayor’s Homeless Task Force.”
Human Rights Commission, City of Virginia Beach: 1995, received award for helping the poor and homeless poor.
Film School of Regent University: produced documentary, “I Hear the Children Weeping ,” on our work.
Emory & Henry College: selected McCormick as recipient of distinguished alumnae “Looney Humanitarian Award” for her service to the poor.
Virginia Council of Social Workers: award for “Excellent Organization”
JC Penney: “Golden Rule Award”
Open Door Chapel: award for “Outstanding Service” to this church community.

2002: Nominated by Virginia Beach Education Association for VEA's (state) Fitz Turner Humanitarian Award
